How close to the edge do you want to get?

As a kid, trips to Port Campbell on the Great Ocean Road were full of excitement. There was the journey to get there, the joy of exploration and the thrill of potential danger. Near Port Campbell at the iconic 12 Apostles, we’d get so close to the edge of the rocky cliffs that the sea spray from far below could still graze our faces. It was exhilarating for us and a nightmare for our parents.

The sensible thing to do probably would’ve been to walk slowly in the grip of a guiding parent, stopping to admire the view from a safe distance.

It got me wondering about how I develop my facilitation skills nowadays.

Do I take the safe route and attend and occasional webinar as a black screen observer?

Or do I go with a more exciting and possibly higher risk option and instead attend a local event in person.

A place where I hear the differing views of others. One where I’ll explore key challenges of facilitation. Somewhere that I’ll have access to cutting edge practices and providers of facilitation and facilitation-focused technology.

I found that place and I want you to come along!

Yep, we’re talking about the IAF Oceania.

By attending events and participating in forums, you’ll have time with fabulous people who ‘get what you do’ and look forward to learning with you and from you.

Being part of the IAF means you’ll be able to run right up to ‘the edge’ to:

  • Expand and regenerate your networks

  • Increase your profile through increased market exposure and skill development

  • Stay on top of changes in tech use and facilitation

Do everything you can to be part of the IAF and make sure you’re ready for an ‘edgy’ experience.
